All students at Cornell Tech participate in Company Challenges. New York's leading startups and tech firms provide challenges they are facing today. Students submit preferences for which ones they most want to solve. Cornell Tech forms students into teams based on their preferences and skills. This process requires many hours of work to get the right fit onto teams. As the program grows, it is becoming unmanageable. Bad teams not only result is poor solutions to the challenges, but also a poor learning experience for students.
MatchKit enables Cornell Tech to easily and securely collect information about students and their company preferences. The professor then sets up team preferences and constraints. After the preferences are set, they can be reused year after year. In an instant MatchKit forms the students into teams and summarizes the results for the professor to check. The professor can export the results to easily be sent out over email.
MatchKit allows Cornell Tech to form teams that have more diversity, better balance of skills, and happier students. Creating these teams takes less time, allowing the professors to focus on what truly matters: education.
